Squash Facilities cleared to open in Phase 2 starting June 12
Jun. 10, 2020
As many of you have heard, Squash has been approved to reopen in Phase 2. In general the Province indicates that play within family groups and small "Pods/Cohort Groups" is ok in sports where social distancing is difficult to maintain. I have attached the link to the Provincial Guidance for reference. I refer you to pages 10, 13 and 15 for specifics on Squash, Cohort Groups. Cohort Guidelines, Daily Checklist
What does this mean? At this point clubs will be able to open their facilities within the Guidance provided by the Province as they see fit/are able. Some clubs will be able to open sooner than others, so please be patient and understand that they have many things to sort through before opening their doors and facilities to members and guests.
As individuals it is up to each of us to be behave and interact responsibly so as to avoid a "second wave" that could potentially set the province and our sport back. If we all work together we will be able to get back to fully participating in our sport sooner.
We wish everyone a fun and healthy summer and a safe return to Squash.
Alberta Squash Racquets Association was established in 1967 as a registered non-profit society in the Province of Alberta and is the governing body for the sport of squash in Alberta. In the late 80's the operating name was changed to Squash Alberta. The role of Squash Alberta is to promote and facilitate the development of squash for all Albertans.
