Squash Alberta Suspends all Sanctioned Tournament and InterClub League play pending ongoing review.
Jan. 22, 2021
Dear Squash Alberta Members,
We hope this update finds everyone healthy and happy during these challenging times. We wanted to provide an update as to what Squash Alberta is doing for the upcoming season.
Squash Alberta Sanctioned Tournament and InterClub League play suspended until further notice. Through consulting with our Squash Pro Advisory Committee, our Affiliated Clubs and Membership it has been decided that we will suspend all Squash Alberta Sanctioned Tournament and InterClub League play. We are reviewing this on an ongoing basis pending changes to the current Provincial CoVid 19 guidelines and the policies of our affiliated clubs. Further updates will be provided as we learn more.
Squash Alberta Memberships - As you may be aware, membership revenues make up about 50% of our operating budget. With no tourney or InterClub league play likely before fall 2021, membership is probably seen as unnecessary or a question mark at best.
We Need Your help:
We humbly ask that you consider buying your annual membership in support of Squash Alberta to help us weather the CoVid storm.
Keep in mind that your membership includespersonal injury and dental insurance for all on-court training and play in Canada, inclusion in provincial and national rankings, discounts on coaching and officiating courses as well as tournament play (when we are able to get back to it).
With Club Locker you can enter your results, for "friendly” and club league matches, into the Club Locker system to support your provincial and national rankings despite no tourney and interclub play at this time.
Effective Aug 30, 2020 we closed our office at the Acadia Recreation Centre to reduce our operating expenses. Our office staff will continue to work from their homes pending ongoing review. We thank the management and staff at the Acadia Rec Centre for their hospitality over the past 2 years.
If you have any questions please contact our Executive Director, Ken Cross, at 403 875 2841. Our contact information will remain the same.
