Team Canada is Cairo-Bound for the 2025 World Squash Junior Championships | Canadian junior athletes are heading to Egypt for the 2025 World Squash Junior Championships, taking place from July 21 to August 1 in Cairo. The event will feature both junior men’s and women’s individual and team competitions, and Canada is sending a blended team of experienced veterans and aspiring players making their debut World Squash junior event. | Leading the charge are returning athletes Alyssa Ho (AB), Joelle Kim (BC), Ocean Ma (BC), Spring Ma (BC), and Youssef Sarhan (QC), who all bring valued experience to this year’s roster. The women's team is made up almost entirely of returning players from Canada’s historic bronze-medal finish in 2024, a first podium for Canadian women, and Joelle Kim will join Team Canada this year, having had a great experience at the individual event in 2024. On the men’s team, Sarhan will line up with Calder Murray (AB), Rohan Paliwal (AB), and Youssef Taha (AB). | Additionally, four Canadians will compete in the individual events from July 21 to 26. Keira Hickox (ON) and Salma Hassan (QC) will represent Canada on the junior women’s side, while Arham Izhar (ON) and Luke Yang (ON) will compete in the junior men’s draw. The team will be guided by Jonathan Hill, who brings vast experience from nine previous World Squash Junior Championships. He is joined by Samantha Cornett, who has represented Team Canada nine times at both the Junior and Senior World Championships, and Team Manager Chris Truswell, who also serves as Squash Canada’s Event Director. Together, they will support the athletes through a packed schedule of team preparation, world-class matches, and on- and off-court learning opportunities. Join us in cheering for Team Canada as they compete in Cairo and get into the groove of following along in advance of this exciting World Squash event coming to Canada and The Club at White Oaks (ON) in July 2026! | |
