2025 Alberta Open Invitational - Turk and Craig take home the Championship Titles!
What a great three days of squash at the 2025 Alberta Open Invitational hosted by the BVAC.
The Sunday final matches saw Hannah Craig and Connor Turk prove they were top of their class with dominating 3-0 performances through all 3 rounds of the event.
Lucia Bicknell started to find her game in the 3rd, but it was too late and Craig closed the door on her first Alberta Open title, before Bicknell was able to make any more inroads in the match.
Sam Boulanger pushed hard, as always, but Turk, who was not going to be denied his 3rd Alberta Open title, played at a relentless pace, not allowing Boulanger to sustain pressure during many long and physical rallies.
It was a great showcase of Alberta's Top 8 of 15 men and women players with draws that have continued to get stronger each year.
A big thank you to the BVAC for hosting the event on the heels of the 2025 Canadian Men's Open - a great way to cap off the 2025 CMO finals night with a move into the BVAC for the first round of the 2025 Alberta Open Invitational. What a fantastic week of squash in Calgary!
A huge shout out to our officials: Rod McDougall, Ben Grout, Jack Dale, David Young, Colin Schille, Chris Doyle and Rob Heaton for their time and efforts in overseeing the oncourt proceedings during the event.
Thank you to Squash Alberta for organizing and overseeing the annual celebration of our top Men and Women - it is always a treat to watch squash at this level in Alberta and to realize how good our top athletes really are.
Congratulations to Connor and Hannah, our 2025 Alberta Open Invitational Champions.
We look forward to the Alberta Open Invitational in 2026 - The field keeps getting stronger every year!
