2024 Junior Provincial Championships April 12-13 at the Royal Glenora - Recap!

Apr. 17, 2024

A big thank you to the newly renovated and spectacular Royal Glenora Club.  Special thanks go to Pete Goodings, Ross Pretorius and Keltie Watson (SA Board- Edmonton Regional Rep) for the overall running of the event on site, as well as members of the RGC Squash Committee - and not forgetting the staff and support of the RGC club for hosting Squash Alberta and the 2024 Alberta Junior Provincial Squash Championships on April 12-13, 2024.

What a great weekend of fabulous sportsmanship, with all levels of play on show and such a superb venue to hang out in for a wonderful weekend of squash.

Also, a big shout out to our Squash Alberta Officials for overseeing the on-court proceedings on both days.  Stephen Atkins(TR), Gwynne Bykowski, Gabi Sonego, Chris Doyle & John De Vries as well as several RGC members - your time and effort is much appreciated and makes the event more enjoyable for all.  Not having to referee if you've just played makes the experience that little bit better!

Thank you to all the participants and their supporters for making the 2024 Provincial Junior Championships a fabulously fun and successful event and an ongoing thank you to the parents, family members and coaches for taking time out of their busy schedules to support their junior athletes.

71 players divided into fourteen divisions took to the courts to compete for Provincial Championship titles over the weekend.  For Junior Provincials and Nationals, you must play in your actual age groups (no aging-up allowed), so this is a true reflection of age group ability and with Junior Nationals just 2-weeks away, it acted as a great warm-up event for everyone.
