We hope this message finds you all safe and healthy in these most trying of times and wish you and your families all the best for the Holiday Season. Fingers crossed and many prayers that 2021 brings better days to everyone and allows us to get back on court!
As a result of the great response we received in our first attempt to raise money to help us grow Squash Programs in our regions outside of Calgary and Edmonton, we are going to do it again! Our goal is to get our Sport back into the Alberta Winter games by 2024 so that our young squash players have the opportunity to play for Alberta while experiencing this wonderful sporting event in many future years to come. Keep in mind that this event is for our up and coming junior players as they progress in the sport, so it is a much more inclusive opportunity for our non-elite juniors in Alberta. In order to achieve this goal we need to develop coaches and junior programs in our other 6 Alberta Regions: South, Parkland, Big Country, Yellowhead, North Eastern and Peace Country. We have clubs and courts in all these regions, we are well on our way in this process, we just need to continue to develop resources to help them grow solid programs in their communities.
Please support our ongoing efforts by participating in our online 50/50 raffle this month and/or by purchasing your SA membership for the 2020/2021 season.
Many Thanks in advance for your ongoing support of Squash Alberta.
Ken Cross, Executive Director of Squash Alberta, on behalf of your Squash Alberta Board of Directors.
