JUNIOR FUNDING

Provincial Team The Provincial Team will be named in April of each year according to rankings after the Alberta Junior Closed. The Provincial Team will consist of the top two ranked in boy's and girl's in the following age categories; U19, U17, U15 and U13.
+ To be eligible for Squash Alberta funding athletes must be members of Squash Alberta in good standing.
+ To attain funding all athletes must compete in the Alberta Jester Junior Open and the Alberta Junior Closed. All athletes are required to compete in their own age division at the Alberta Junior Closed.
+ Squash Alberta will support the Provincial Team members participating at the Canadian Junior Squash Championship (Closed). Each Team member will receive $100.00 in funding and their entry fee paid.

Canadian Junior Open Squash Alberta will support the top two ranked athletes in both junior boy's and junior girls in U19, U17, U15 and U13 to attend the Canadian Junior Open. Squash Alberta will use the Squash Alberta rankings following the conclusion of the Alberta Jester Junior Open to determine the athletes that will be funded. Each athlete will receive $100 in funding and their entry fee paid.

SENIOR FUNDING

Canadian Squash Championships The top five ranked Squash Alberta members in the men and women's Alberta rankings who attend the Canadian Squash Championships will receive $125 in funding. The highest ranked Squash Alberta member in the men's and women's division in each of the age categories that attend the Canadian Squash Championships with receive $125.

Canadian Teams Championships Three Squash Alberta players in the men and women's division will be selected to the Alberta team for the Canadian Teams Championships and the team will be named after the Edmonton Open.

Squash Alberta will pay airfare, hotel accommodation, entry fee and supply a team uniform.

The following criteria are used, in descending order, to select athletes until a full team of 3 is fielded:

1. PSA Ranking within the top 150

2. National Ranking within the top 50

3. Provincial Ranking

***Due to unreliable rankings from Squash Canada, National rankings were not used for Team Selection in 2016

 

***Provincial Ranking was determined using a 4-month average between August and December

Canadian Masters Team Championships Squash Alberta will fund a seven person team $500 per person to attend the Canadian Masters Team Championships. Squash Alberta will pay the entry fee for the team and supply a team uniform. If the event is in Alberta, Squash Alberta will enter two teams and pay both team's entry fee and supply a team uniform. Selections will be based solely on Alberta rankings after the Edmonton Open and utilize an average ranking for the preceding 4-month period. Members of the team must:
+ Be members of Squash Alberta in good standing.
+ Must have played in a Squash Alberta sanctioned tournament in the last twelve months.
The team will consist of seven players in the following categories:
        Women's 40+ 45+ 50+
        Men's 40+ 45+ 50+ 55+ 

Canadian University Team Funding Squash Alberta may provide funding to the top two men's and women's in the open category of the Alberta University/College Championships to attend the Canadian University Championship each year.

Eligibility
1. Must be a member of Squash Alberta in good standing.
2. Be a student who is officially registered for and pursuing a full-time course of study at a post-secondary institution.
3. Be at least 17 and less than 28 years of age as of January

OFFICIALS FUNDING

Squash Alberta will reimburse Squash Alberta referees who are members in good standing once a year as follows:

A Tournament Referee will be named for each of the following events and receive $100.00 per event.

= Alberta Open
= Alberta Closed
= Alberta Junior Closed
= Alberta Jesters Junior Open
= Alberta University/College Championships
= Alberta Mixed Doubles Championships
= Alberta Men's & Women's Doubles Championships

An assessment fee of $5.00 per assessment will be paid by Squash Alberta, this only applies to assessments done on Squash Alberta referees and the assessment does not have to be done in Alberta.

Mileage to sanctioned Alberta events will be reimbursed at $0.40/km rate based on a fix mileage chart used by Squash Alberta. Referees are encouraged to car pool where feasible. To receive a mileage allowance to a Squash Alberta event you must be a full time referee at that event.

Squash Alberta will pay $50.00 per clinic (must be a PE or NE level official)

Squash Alberta will pay $150.00 per clinic for a referee certification clinic

A Match Honorarium of $2.00 per match refereed will be paid at the following tournaments:
